FMA is located in the heart of Cebu City. Ayala Center Cebu, one of the country’s premier shopping malls, is within walking distance. Also, accessible by foot are numerous restaurants, shopping centers, and dance clubs.

Cebu is very diverse and features a wide variety of international cuisines. Students can dine at Indian, Persian, Mexican, Greek, Italian, German, French, Korean, Japanese and many other types of restaurants.

Cebu City has a vibrant nightlife scene featuring dozens of clubs and bars playing everything from hip-hop/RNB to mainstream EDM to Techno. There’s also active live music scene, with shows frequently showcasing some of the country’s best reggae, alternative rock, and metal bands.

The Philippines has a large tourist industry due to its world class beaches and breathtaking natural scenery. It’s very inexpensive and easy to travel around the Philippines, leaving you with access to some of the world’s finest island destinations. There are many beach resorts less than an hour away from the school on Mactan Island. Students can enjoy relaxing weekend retreats to beautiful islands neighboring Cebu including Malapascua Island, Bantayan Island, and Bohol. Palawan, the island CN Traveler selected as the number one island in the world, is just an hour flight away from Cebu. The world famous Boracay Island is less than an hour away by plane. Boracay’s 5 meter long white sand beach is consistently ranked among the top 3 beaches in the world by TripAdvisor. The amazing places to spend your term break are countless.

WEATHER


Cebu maintains warm, humid tropical climate all year round. There are only two seasons, wet and dry. The wet months are typically June through October, with the rest of the year being the dry season. The average year round temperature in the Philippines is 26.6 °C (79.9 °F). The temperature remains the same whether wet or dry.

ARRIVING BY AIR


Cebu has an international airport located on Mactan Island, which is approximately 45 minutes away from the campus. A bridge connects Mactan Island with Cebu Island where the school is located. FMA provides complimentary airport pickup.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION


There are an abundant amount of taxis in Cebu City. Most locations in the city can be reached for less than $3 by cab. A taxi to the airport is about $6 and it’s approximately $7 to reach the neighboring island’s resorts.

HOUSING


There are many housing options located near the campus. We can assist you in finding a suitable place to live during your stay in Cebu. Housing cost typically range from $200 to $500 per month.

LANGUAGE


Filipino is the official language of the Philippines. However, the Philippine education system is in English. Therefore, English is commonly spoken throughout the country.
